Below are couple of ‘cutting room floor’ concepts that Dave Branfield and I couldn’t quite persuade the guys at BrewDog to go with - 'Fetish' and 'Taxidermy'. The first was the starting point for the adopted strap line ‘A Little Bit Twisted’. The second was a step too far, even for brave founders James Watt and Martin Dickie. It featured stuffed and mounted trophies on a hunting lodge wall - a high court judge, a traffic warden, David Hasselhoff, Paris Hilton and The Chuckle Brothers. Well, if it were legal you would wouldn’t you?
BrewDog
'A little bit twisted' The largest, independently owned brewery in Scotland, Brewdog own 23 craft beer bars throughout the UK and Europe. Their message is clear ‘our beers are not run of the mill, we’re different, sometimes controversial ... and proud of it’. To that point, creative partner in crime Dave Branfield and I were approached by Brewdog to work on concepts for posters, DM and online advertising. Here are just two of the leading concepts - ‘Stag’ and ‘Asylum’. Look closely at the man’s left hand. Marketing channels - Posters / online advertising / leaflets
